Supersonic Pirate Eels 679 Electric Eels 872

Hello Eels!

The results don't reflect the fun and the Quality Swimming that took place on Thursday when our Pirated Eastside Supersonic Eels invited the Evergreen Lakes Electric Eels into our cove. And while we swashbuckled and swam our best we just weren't able to get that pirate booty of a win in our hands.

But our crew of only 75 hearty Eels kept those 104 Electric Eels at bay most of the evening.
Here is how the scoring went....

After Backstroke...
Supersonic Eels 138 Electric Eels 118

after the Medley Relays
Supersonic Eels 191 Electric Eels 180

after Short Freestyle
Supersonic Eels 320 Electric Eels 312

after 100 IM
Supersonic Eels 377 Electric Eels 474

after Long Freestyle
Supersonic Eels 466 Electric Eels 551

after BreastStroke
Supersonic Eels 545 Electric Eels 683

after Butterfly
Supersonic Eels 619 Electric Eels 812

AND then the final score after Free Relays.... Hurricanes 679 Eels 872

But this pirate was proud of the crew of you swimmers and also several other crew members, some parents who jumped into the battle when needed.

It takes a the whole crew to keep our ship going as good as we are swimming and we'll now point ourselves towards Loganville and the Youth Swimming team for this week's meet.

Until then enjoy these pictures taken by Mr. G as we remember that it's also about having some fun and I hope that everyone can say they indeed had fun.

A Team Tradition Continues..................

Hello Eels

Are you ready for this week's meet? I know you are.

How about I take a moment to introduce you to another team tradition.

What is it you say? Well it's a sort of team hug, show of support, we love you and it's presented to your family personally. Wanna see pictures? Cool

( be sure to click on the pictures for the full impact ... I mean full size view )

Yes, as a matter of fact this family DID recently celebrate a birthday.
That's why none of the neighbors who saw what was going on thought
it was anything but a belated birthday surprise.

We know how to work under cover.

why of course all those forks match the beautiful house.

Just think of it as free lawn aerating! People actually PAY
to have holes poked into their yard. We will do it for FREE!

Oh you silly swimmers and we usually don't miss ANY of your yard!

Remember QUALITY!

OK, so now you have seen another team tradition.

Make sure your parents see this page.

Because you never know, when YOU could be the next yard FORKED.

And also because if your family feels that this is something they absolutely, most definitely and without question don't want to be involved in they should let the coaches know.
The coaches have a special email address that they can send a message to to prevent this from occurring to your yard. We have no idea who(m) it is we were just given an email address for this specific purpose.

So what happens next? Funny you should ask that.

Well whoever this yard belongs to..... I know nothing......they will collect all of these forks
( about 1,400 of them ) ADD MORE to them and then pick THE NEXT YARD.

Summer Swim Team with the Eastside Supersonic Eels...more fun everyday than you ever imagined.

The words WE and US were used only to display team unity and spirit.
The coaching staff of the Eastside Supersonic Eels in no way encourages
or supports the act of FORKING.

Meet #2 @ Hanarry Pictures

Hello Eels and Eel Fans!

Here are a few shots taken my Mr. Gross of our last meet vs the Hurricanes of Hanarry Swim & Racket Club.

The theme for this away meet was Team Spirit!

Looks to me like MZ is going for the Team Spirit
award with that hair but SK's body art may be
trying to give him a run for the prize and the smile from
KG sure does brighten up the team banner.

Everybody...."We got spirit yes we do....."

"the weatherpeople in this town can never get it right"

their likeness not be posted at all please send me an email.

Well after a delayed start and another night of great quality swims our team unfortunately came of just 26 points short of our competition.

Hurricanes 753

Eels 727

I would like to congratuate our swimmers on "leaving it in the pool". Looking over the meet results it was again obviously that our Eels didn't get outswam we were just outnumbered, by 29 swimmers based on the entries.

after the Medley Relays
Hurricanes 183
Eels 182

after Short Freestyle
Hurricanes 331
Eels 295

after 100 IM
Hurricanes 393
Eels 380

after Long Freestyle
Hurricanes 508
Eels 480

after BreastStroke
Hurricanes 590
Eels 589

after Butterfly
Hurricanes 698
Eels 672

AND then the final score after Free Relays....

Hurricanes 753

Eels 727

Just as your Eels coaching staff has been explaining, due to team size this season,
Quality Swims will be our foucus, our motto, our goal.

The Eastside Supersonic Eels had Quality Swims!

We are so proud of you!

See you at the pool.

SuperHeroes Eels 758 Olympians 763

Well
The Punisher
( aka Coach Scott )
Ms. Victory
(aka Coach Debby)
encouraged from the pool deck as the EastSide Supersonic Eels posted some awesome swims, wore some great costumes and obviously had ALOT of fun (and some kool blue frozen drinks!) but unfortunately our team came out just short, by 5 points, in our first home meet this season to the swimmers from Eastmont Cove.
EELS - 758
Olympians - 763
( and what do you mean that doesn't look like Coach Debby and I ?
I HAD that much hair I just had a cap on!)

The meet went extremely well overall, thanks should go out to all of our parent volunteers!
But the swims by some new swimmers really should be noted. A new younger brother sister dynamic duo took over 26 seconds off their time trials times! Holy time drop Batman! We had another new swimmer lock up 21 individual points by winning ALL of his events! Another time dropping sister duo took over 19 seconds off their combined times and contributed 15 points individually. And another brother sister new/returning duo posted up 35 points and dropped over gobs of time as well. The list could continue on easily with the swims delivered by
the SWARM.

What this points out is that while our team was outnumbered by around 25 swimmers (that's like having 5 swimmers in chairs behind each of our 5 lane pool ) our team posted High Quality Swims. This allowed many of us individually to achieve new time standards which now should be our new goals for this week's meet against the Hurricanes of Hanarry Swim & Racket Club coached by an old friend Coach Jack Gayle.
Some of our goals this week will be to continue to improve our strokes as well as our starts and turns. We will also develop and begin using a standard warmup for all practices and meets.
Everything else as you already know is JUST SWIMMING.

Welcome to the Eastside Supersonic Eels Site

Welcome! This site has been created for the swimmers, families and guests of the Eastside Supersonic Eels swim team who compete in the Gwinnett County Swim League of Gwinnett County Georgia.

The team was created last season( 06') via the merger of the Eastside Eels, the '05 county champion, with the Snellville Supersonics, the oldest team in the league and the team with the most county championships.

We are the Eastside Supersonic Eels.

Through the hard work of our entire team, swimmers, parent and coaches the team finished the '06 season as Divisional Co-Champions and place just outside of the Top 10 at the '06 Gwinnett County Swim League Championship placing 11th!

We have begun practice for the 07' summer season.
For '07 Team Registration information, please contact Don Faulkner at donald.faulkner@comcast.net
